Ruta del Vino Somontano

The Somontano Wine Route participates in events organised by the Spanish Wine Routes who met between 30th November and 1st December for professionals from the tourism sector and wine industry.

The Somontano Wine Route was once again in Madrid to take part – alongside the other regions that make up the Spanish Wine Routes – in promotional events directed at specific target markets.  On 30th November the manager of the Somontano Wine Route and the travel agency, Enodestino, highlighted the range of wine-tourism possibilities on offer in Somontano as part of a workshop directed at tour operators, travel agencies and agents in the sectors of distribution and gastronomy.

The workshop that took place on 1st December was split into two parts.  The first was an institutional meeting that brought together representatives from local and regional administration and the Spanish Wine Cities Association “ACEVIN,” the Spanish Wine Routes and those responsible for each of the wine routes.

This meeting was rounded off with a Wine-Gastronomy Get Together, open to the general public and the media, during which the 21 wine routes that make up “Spanish Wine Routes” had the opportunity to demonstrate to visitors the unique experiences awaiting discovery along each route as they learn about the region’s wine.  Those attending were able to sample a wide range of wines from the regions alongside a number of tapas.

With this event, ACEVIN’s Spanish Wine Routes carries on its work in the promotion of wine culture and tourism as a complement to local development.  The project, which is wholly supported by the Secretary for Tourism and the Ministry for the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs is currently made up of 21 routes: Ruta del Vino Alicante, Ruta del Vino Bierzo, Ruta del Vino de Bullas, Ruta del Vino de Campo de Borja, Ruta del Vino de Condado de Huelva, Ruta del Vino Jumilla, Caminos del Vino de La Mancha, Ruta del Vino de Lleida, Ruta del Vino y del Brandy del Marco de Jerez, Ruta del Vino de Montilla-Moriles, Ruta del Vino de Navarra, Ruta del Vino y del Cava del Penedès, Ruta del Vino de Rías Baixas, Ruta del Vino Ribeiro, Ruta del Vino Ribera del Duero, Ruta del Vino Ribera del Guadiana, Ruta del Vino de Rioja Alavesa, Ruta del Vino Rioja Alta, Ruta del Vino de Somontano, Ruta del Vino Tacoronte-Acentejo and the Ruta del Vino Utiel-Requena.
