Pyrenair and the Somontano Wine Route once again join forces to promote Wine Tourism in Somontano
For the second year, the airline will offer holiday packages with flights and accommodation along the Somontano Wine Route with departures from Madrid, A Coruña, Palma de Mallorca, Vigo, Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The president of the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Somontano, Antonio Cosculluela, accompanied by Mariano Beroz, president of the D.O. Somontano Council have signed an agreement with the president of Pyrenair, Hugo Puigdefábregas, for the promotion of the Somontano Wine Route through a range of holiday packages to the region. These will include direct flights to Huesca-Pirineos airport and accommodation in the Somontano region and will last throughout the airline’s winter campaign. This agreement follows on from last year’s groundbreaking pact.
The packages are managed by the specialist travel agency Enodestino and are offered under the title of “Somontano Wine Route Weeeknd Breaks” from the following airports:- Madrid, A Coruña, Palma de Mallorca, Vigo, Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In addition to the flights and accommodation, the packages include a wine tasting course in the D.O. Somontano Wine Zone in Barbastro, guided winery visits, a visit to the collegiate church of Alquézar and the option of pre-booking transfers and any additional services on offer by the establishments joined to the Somontano Wine Route.
The packages will begin this weekend with prices starting from 240 euros. They also provide little extras such as a Route Guide with information about the programme of activities, additional information about Somontano and a bottle of wine from the Somontano region courtesy of Pyrenair.
The websites of both organisations www.pyrenair.es and www.rutaldelvinosomontano.com will be featuring these holidays as part of the agreement. They will also send regular newsletters to users, communicate offer details to the network of travel agencies that work with the airline and will distribute promotional material about the Somontano Wine Route on flights and at points of sale.
