Saturday's Wine Bus Sold Out

This season’s sixth bus will arrive in Somontano from Zaragoza and Huesca this Saturday without a single free seat, so popular has been this innovative idea to bring wine tourists to the region.

Bus del vino somontano. Visita a bodega irius durante el festival del vino. Sábado, 6 de agosto de 2011

The bus leaves Zaragoza at 9am and picks up from Huesca 50 minutes later, and has sold out completely for this coming Saturday.  It provides a magnificent opportunity to discover the essence of the Somontano Wine Route in one day and this weekend’s excursion takes in the wineries of Laus and Pirineos as well as the medieval village of Alquézar.

The 50+ visitors booked onto the sixth Somontano Wine Bus bring the total number of users of this new service to just over 250.  A collaboration between the Somontano Wine Route and the Somontano Development Centre brought about this new offer, which has included day and night wine-related excursions to the Somontano region allowing visitors to enjoy the wine experience without the need to drive their own car.

The next date for the wine bus is Saturday 17th September and the day trip includes the city of Barbastro and the wineries of Meler and Irius.  Guided visits of both wineries are included and during free time in Barbastro, visitors can use their time to visit highlights such as the Diocesan Museum and Cathedral Complex or the San Julian Complex with Visitor Centre and Wine Museum or simply wander around the city and make the most of the varied offer from the Somontano Wine Route’s shops, restaurants and wine bars.

The cost of the ticket is 26€ and includes transport between the wineries and the service of a guide during the visits.  For more details and tickets please contact the specialist agency Enodestino on 974 316342.
