Ruta del Vino Somontano

The ideal formula for learning to taste a wine while enjoying a practical food and wine pairing course.  To round of the day, guests are invited to join a private tour of the exclusive Blecua winery.

The course includes an introduction to wine tasting and the phases that follow and goes on to incorporate educational games based on the aromas of wines.  It takes in tastings of the following wines:-
 
Viñas del Vero Chardonnay-Macabeo
Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer
Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección
Viñas del Vero Syrah Colección
Viñas del Vero Gran Vos
Viñas del Vero Secastilla
 
To finish, pairings are made between these wines and the following range of foods:-

Pork scratchings, pickled mussel and garlic mayonnaise 
Raspberry with anchovy, rocket and balsamic cream
Melon and cured ham
Orange and salmon
Quince jelly with cheese and nuts

In addition, Vinas de Vero & Blecua offer winery visits to the general public as well as the opportunity to taste the new wines from the 2010 harvest in their new tasting area.
